I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high places and the low places of the earth. God's word was obeyed, and as a result there were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout the world. --Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 28, 29. {ChS 112.2}

God's Blessings for 2011!

Here is the beginning of 2011-- as the Elder who brought the message to us had to say today: "there are 364 1/2 days left in the year".  On each one of the days to follow may you-- as a member of Christ's Body-- be conscious of your role and responsibilities in reaching out to those who have not accepted the Love and Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am taking a few days to plan and set goals for the year ahead.  I do not envy persons with jobs and young children who have a desire to serve God in this particular time-- as a retired person I am pressed to do this, see this, help with this.... it must be so much more overwhelming and difficult to keep focus for those who have more day-to-day responsibilities in the World.  But God has promised never to give us more than we can bear, so with prayer and fellowship/mentoring/support even those with small children and bulky outside-the-home responsibilities will be blessed with time and opportunity to serve... and they WILL be blessed!

Earlier this evening I spoke on the phone with a sister from another city/province who told me how their church (of 400 members) had celebrated New Year's Eve with communion and the Sabbath service was a lovely celebration of the blessings of the passed year and the anticipation of the one coming (or the One Coming Back?).  I confess to feeling a little jealous and guilty.  Often our particular church is quiet, peaceful heading towards dull, and with a lot of work shared out among few people.  I'm quite sure we are not unique. I'm pleased that we are starting the New Year with some exciting possibilities for revival and reformation.

You may want to add the following to your Calendar:
Wednesday January 5- Friday January 14- 7pm- Daily- Operation Global Rain  Meet at the Church to pray for revival and reformation.  Pray from home if you can't be there.
Sabbath January 8th: Fellowship Dinner after the Service
Monday January 10th:  Women's Ministries Lunch at the Church
Friday January 21st: Evangelist Justis St. Hilaire at Campbell River
Sabbath January 22nd: Communion and Fellowship Dinner

And be sure to sign up on SDAs Praying 24/7 on Facebook for a daily prayer shift for the salvation of loved ones (you don't have to attend Comox Adventist to sign up-- and please tell your Adventist friends!)
Please join us in person-- or in the comfort of your own livingroom with your family-- to pray for the outpouring of the early and latter rain, for revival and reformation. 7 pm, Every Evening, January 5th to 14th, 2011 at the Comox Valley Church, 4660 Headquarters Road. See more at Operation Global Rain
