I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high places and the low places of the earth. God's word was obeyed, and as a result there were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout the world. --Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 28, 29. {ChS 112.2}

Some Inspiring Labour Day Reading...

I have a friend who not only belongs to a Union, she is a minor "boss" in that she represents the 'support staff' of a school district.  She is not a Christian-- or not a professed one-- but she is a very kind, compassionate, caring, concerned and conscientious leader.  And like her compadres in the work force, she is looking forward to this long weekend called "the Labour Day Weekend", a tribute to workers everywhere.
What about Christians who are labouring hard in the field?  Is it necessary to wait for a government-appointed, traditional weekend each year to get some validated "rest" time?  Jesus says ""Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". ~Matthew 11:28 When we rest in the Lord, we find that our lives fall into a sort of peaceful order that is not possible for us with our 'natural' way of striving and doing things.  Here are a couple of great "Labour Day" meditations on this verse:  Labor Day God's Way and Come Unto Me.  Have a great rest!

    Love you Cynthia...you know of course that trade unionism, esp in this country took Christian values and applied them to working conditions,,
    And a union motto is, what we wish for ourselves we wish for all..
