I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high places and the low places of the earth. God's word was obeyed, and as a result there were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout the world. --Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 28, 29. {ChS 112.2}

Looking for Someone who Speaks #Russian or #Ukrainian Willing to Attend Sabbath Services and Fellowship Dinners in Courtenay, BC

Every so often there is a reminder that we are not the isolated little congregation that we sometimes feel we are-- that happens when we have someone like "Maria" begin attending our regular services. Maria is a lovely woman from the Ukraine, newly in Canada, helping her nephew and wife out with childcare. 'Back home' she has two married daughters and an 8-year old granddaughter. One of her daughters is a designer and designed the dress she wore today. She herself was an interior designer and a kindergarten teacher in "the Old Country".

Maria has very limited English. We are looking for someone (kind, intelligent, speaking both English and either Russian or Ukainian) to attend services with Maria in our local Seventh-day Adventist Church in Courtenay, BC and to do some translation and discussion with her over the fellowship dinner that follows the service. This is a volunteer position, but we know that if you are out there thinking about this, you will receive huge spiritual blessings from the experience and a good meal in good company. I'd love to hear from you! If you aren't interested but knows someone who might be, please contact me below (leave a message) or have them contact me, same place. God bless you! ~Cynthia

  1. Maria has made some Russian-speaking friends from the local community. This is a great boon for her.
