In our small community we are blessed to have a number of 'social' (i.e., spiritual)services that are supported by our local churches and caring individuals. This is part of our Scriptural commission that promises: "Feed the hungry! Help those in trouble! Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you shall be as bright as day. And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy you with all good things, and keep you healthy too; and you will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring."(TLB, Isaiah 58:10-11)
Our Church, like many others, supports the local Comox Valley Pregnancy Care Centre. With their Director, Julie LeGoff, and trained peer counsellors, they listen and respond to concerns about pregnancy, abortion, sexually-transmitted infections and diseases (STI/STDs), and related issues. One of the dynamic volunteers has recently initiated an 'email' prayer ministry to pray for women who are struggling with the issues of whether to give birth or abort. If this ministry is what you are called to, please join us. The protocol is simple and can be carried out by anyone who has email, so is not necessarily restricted to the Comox Valley. Our email prayer co-ordinator will contact you by email and give you a brief (anonymous)sketch of the particular prayer need and you will pray. There is a plan to communicate any testimonials that arise from answered prayers. If you are interested in joining and/or knowing more, please contact the Pregnancy Care Centre-- put "prayer ministry" in your subject line, please. God bless you!
