This weekend we had a "con sultation team" come to our Church from our BC Conference and do a review of "healthy church growth", evaluate, affirm, and make suggestions for our church to make some improvements. Our surveys showed that our "minimum" area of strength is our "small groups". The idea is that if we improve our small group situation, we will also improve our other areas of weakness. It was interesting and exciting-- motivating and hopeful. Seven Church members -- 2 Board members and 5 Church members-- will meet to make a plan for our "revitalization".
Last night Ed and I attended the AGM for the Pregnancy Care Center, the mother organization for Charis House where I volunteer. This morning I went over there and prayed with Dot and Julie. I was elated to learn that M. gave her heart to the Lord just after giving birth to her little boy. I left that prayer meeting feeling so uplifted and refreshed. Later in the afternoon I dropped in to see the moms and babes and got my hair cut by P. who is a very competent hairdresser. It will be such a blessing to watch God work in these women's lives over the years to come. Please keep them in your prayers!
Our friend J. is getting married & baptized in June and needs to find a good home for her dog Sandy. God attends to all our needs-- there is a family coming to take a look at Sandy this week. They live on a farm and actually advertised to find a dog that needs a good home. I hope that works out for everybody involved (including Sandy).
