I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high places and the low places of the earth. God's word was obeyed, and as a result there were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout the world. --Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 28, 29. {ChS 112.2}

Sabbath Reflections

We were gifted with several warm and sunny fall days over the past couple of weeks-- the summer we never had, as Ed calls it. Today is more classically 'West Coast Fall'-- the sky is grey-ish, it's a little damp and cool out, but still not so cool that you would feel the need of a jacket.

Over the week Ed has been going in daily to record the Doug Batchelor series, and then going to the Church again at 7pm, purportedly to show the recording. After last Monday there haven't been any "takers". People are either staying at home to watch it on their computers, or maybe just aren't interested. If anyone wants to, they can borrow the VHS copies to watch at home. We saw the Sabbath video during our service (in lieu of the service). Pastor Doug addressed the "health message". I'm happy to report that I well and truly do NOT miss bacon any more, and if I did, today's presentation (and the pictures they chose) would have decided me finally. I don't even like the fake-bakon or bako-flakes. It's been a learning process.

Member Denise was rushed by ambulance to hospital in Victoria last night with an infection, the result of some earlier surgery. Prayers for her recovery are appreciated.

Please also pray for Betty's husband who is in the hospital in Campbell River. He was given some relief from edema and gouty conditions, but now needs to follow through on doctor's orders, according to Betty.

The first Cooking Class begins tomorrow at 3pm. Please say a prayer for the smooth start to this program. Wyona, Ruth, and Cheryl have been hard at preparations. Come yourself and invite a friend along!
