I saw jets of light shining from cities and villages, and from the high places and the low places of the earth. God's word was obeyed, and as a result there were memorials for Him in every city and village. His truth was proclaimed throughout the world. --Testimonies, vol. 9, pp. 28, 29. {ChS 112.2}

Back from Camp Meeting

Back from a week of Camp Meeting and feeling pretty elated still. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to enjoy the fellowship (mostly at mealtime or in between the tent auditorium and the parking lot or store) of our friends from BC and our friends from Saskatchewan (many of whom have moved to BC) and our friends from other parts of the continent (like Clara Mae and Art from Washington state).

The highlight for me was listening to a couple of the key speakers: Clifford Goldstein (quite an eccentric brother in Christ), Ty Gibson, and our Conference president, Gordon Peifher. We bought the tapes and DVDs. If you would like to see the DVDs, please let me know.

The weather was grand. Ed's financial planning workshops went very well. He did five 1 1/2 hour sessions this year compared to the four last year, so had some time to explore with people what they thought. He used the boardroom in the Lodge, which was a superior venue (compared to the tent of last year)-- no papers blew around and he had a surface to put his stuff on. It was also nice to have people sitting in a circle.

On Sunday morning we attended the constituency meeting (voting delegates were Ed, Pauline and Bernie.) It hummed along very nicely. We had made arrangements to leave a little early, but not before he was able to vote on both issues: re the Capital Fundraising Campaign and Relocating or Renovating the Conference/ABC main office. The Capital Fundraising Campaign was supported, and after quite a bit of discussion and commentary, there was support for selling and relocating the Conference/ABC offices. It was a well-led, well-presented (researched) meeting.
